Ronan is a Chartered Arbitrator and Commercial Mediator. Ronan specialises in commercial and business law, dealing with all types of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, contractual and commercial transactions, as well as having a very significant and busy commercial litigation practice. Ronan has acted in many of the largest and most high profile litigation cases to come before the Irish Courts. He has represented public and private companies alike, banks, high net worth individuals and many institutions and with a niche commercial practice representing many of Ireland’s leading business figures as well as large multinational firms, developers, senior executives, shareholders, funds and property companies in complex and difficult cases.
Hugh has a very large successful security and finance, which he has developed since he qualified in 1980. Hugh has very extensive experience in all aspects of funding, security, commercial property, construction law, syndicated loans, corporate law and restructuring. He has been retained by some of the largest and most reputable financial institutions in Ireland and abroad. Hugh is very well known in this area and acts as a key advisor to a large number of leading funds, investors, retailers, commercial property developers, receivers and residential developers in both property, construction and company law.
Liam is a qualified Engineer and is also a Commercial Mediator. Liam has had a wide variety of experience in all aspects of commercial and business transactions. He now specialises in all aspects of commercial and business law, and retail property transactions to include secured lending transactions, acting for funds, developers and other institutions. Liam has represented public and private companies in the commercial sector and has experience in advising landlords and tenants, purchasers and sellers, distributors, contractors, as well as joint venture partners, corporate and private investors.
Aisling advises both Irish and international lending institutions, investors, banks, receivers and developers in a wide variety of financing transactions including secured lending, property and taxed based investments in addition to acquisition and development finance. Aisling also advises on all aspects of commercial property law, planning law and Landlord and Tenant. She has been involved in major shopping centre, office, retail and industrial developments, acting for investors, developers, sellers, purchasers and lenders. Her experience includes dealing with all acquisition, development, project management and financing aspects. Aisling has wide experience in drafting and negotiating commercial lease arrangements, rent reviews and arbitrations.
Bernice Garrett is a senior solicitor in the Commercial Property Department, with extensive and wide-ranging experience in all aspects of commercial and business law. Bernice specialises in complex commercial property transactions, advising her clients on acquisition, funding, disposals, schemes of development and Landlord and Tenant matters. She also acts in large residential schemes, as well as acting for funders, banks, receivers and developers in mixed retail, office and commercial developments, including many pubs, restaurants, hostels and hotels. Bernice completed a Diploma in Finance Law from the Law Society of Ireland and advises funders, investors and borrowers on a wide variety of financing transactions including security arrangements. Bernice is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, advising private clients on probate related matters including complex probate litigation, succession planning and wealth protection, and all matters relating to the law of trusts.
Ciara has extensive experience advising clients, from both a plaintiff and defendant perspective, across a wide range of contentious matters. Ciara has particular experience in claims involving contractual and commercial disputes, professional negligence claims, shareholder disputes, employment law, personal injury, probate disputes, family law, licensing and GDPR. Ciara also has extensive experience in judicial review proceedings and disputes concerning planning and development matters. She has considerable practical experience in the area of alternative dispute resolution having conducted many mediations and arbitrations. Ciara has significant experience in all aspects of debt recovery claims and enforcement procedures and has been involved in numerous large value debt recovery claims before the Courts at all jurisdictional levels especially the Commercial Court.
Kamila Tuhtahunova works in litigation, general private client practice and in many commercial transactions. Kamila has specialised in commercial litigation and in corporate and commercial matters. Her particular areas of interest include mergers and acquisitions, corporate insolvency, company law, corporate restructuring and reorganisation. Kamila is a fluent Russian speaker and has working French. She acts in share sales and purchases, share issue, share subscription, commercial contracts, corporate insolvency, commercial contracts, reorganisations and corporate governance. Kamila’s other areas of practice include acting and advising clients on various types of litigation and dispute resolution matters to include contractual disputes, mediations, injunctions debt recovery, personal injuries, medical negligence, GDPR employment law, bankruptcy, insolvency and examinerships.
Karl has very extensive experience in arbitrations, the High Court, Supreme Court and especially the Commercial Court in respect of a broad range of complex commercial issues including disputes relating to contracts, shareholder agreements, licensing agreements, land, construction, employment, professional negligence, insurance and debt recovery. Karl also has very considerable experience advising clients regarding defamation, personal injury, medical negligence and breach of contract claims. He has been involved in many well-known business and commercial disputes, high profile litigation, commercial mediations, construction arbitrations and employment cases before the WRC and the Superior Courts.
Elizabeth Anne NearySolicitor
Elizabeth Anne Neary is a very experienced solicitor in our Private Client Department. Liz has considerable experience in dealing with family law, conveyancing, probate, wills, personal injuries, debt restructuring, lending and contractual matters, both at a transactional and litigation level. She has given lectures and presentations on private client matters, especially in Family Law. Liz has been involved in very extensive and complex family law disputes including many high-end divorces, separations, and child protection matters as well as a broad range of probate, contractual, real property issues, insolvency and asset recovery cases.
Nadia has advised, vendors, purchasers, receivers and companies in various property issues, including residential, commercial and mixed-use conveyancing transactions and Landlord and Tenant matters. Prior to joining HBMO Solicitors, Nadia advised financial institutions and other investors in relation to the management and disposal of distressed assets, enforcement of security, related litigation matters and personal insolvency.
Nicola has extensive experience in advising on all aspects of buying, selling, mortgaging and letting residential property and providing advice on commercial property transactions including; acquisitions, disposals, security and Landlord and Tenant matters. Prior to joining HBMO Solicitors, Nicola also worked in general practice, where she gained a lot of other experience in handling, private client matters, family law matters, will matters and probate and personal injury matters.
